Over time, how have we human beings interacted with nature? How have we tried to understand our individual and collective past? In what ways have we understood our relationship to others, and how has this understanding changed over time? What kinds of political, economic and social systems have we human beings created? To what degree do our behaviors appear to be driven by common interests and drives, and to what extent do human goals differ by time and place?
