PHIL 3013 - Philosophy of Nature Credits: 3 Explores fundamental questions about the nature of the cosmos, focusing on the tradition of Aristotelian-Thomistic philosophy of nature and science, along with the engagement of alternative views (e.g., Platonism, materialism, or scientific naturalism), as a groundwork for higher systematic studies. Topics include physical substance, the natural vs. the artificial, causality and change, space and time, the intelligibility of motion, and the place of humanity in the cosmos.
