ART 3173 - Art in Culture and Context Credits: 3 Art in Culture and Context explores the relationship of art to social, political, and economic structure and their bearing and relationship to the Fine Arts. Students will explore the artistic practice and production of varied cultures and ask the question “does art reflect life, or left reflect art?” Through research, discussion, case studies in historical and contemporary art practices, and some studio applications, students hone their ability to respond to that question while developing their awareness of connection of artworks and cultures.
