CHEM 1013 - General Chemistry 1

Credits: 3
A first chemistry course for science majors. Topics include atomic structure and the periodicity, bonding, thermochemistry, states of matter and stoichiometry.

Prerequisites: One year of high school chemistry (with a grade of B or better) or CHEM 1001  / CHEM 1003  and completion of MATH 1043   (or a math ACT score of 21 or greater or 2 years of high school algebra).
Corequisite(s): CHEM 1012   - General Chemistry 1 Lab and CHEM 1010   - General Chemistry 1 problem session must be taken concurrently unless the student has prior credit for the laboratory.
