This course equips educators with advanced literacy instruction skills, focusing on essential areas such as word study, vocabulary, fluency, reading comprehension, and writing strategies tailored for diverse learners. Educators will learn to integrate effective handwriting, spelling, and composition instruction alongside assessment tools and progress monitoring methods, ensuring instructional decisions are data-driven and responsive to individual needs, including those of English learners. Emphasizing technology integration and interdisciplinary approaches, this course prepares educators to deliver engaging, standards-aligned literacy instruction. This course requires practicum hours, allowing participants to apply these strategies in real classrooms through hands-on teaching and targeted lessons, building practical experience and refining their instructional techniques.
