BSAD 9111 - Strategic Thinking for Decision-Making Credits: 3 This course explores current research in corporate strategy and the research evolvement occurring in the last two decades. The seminar involves a critical review of a wide variety of theoretical approaches to strategy research that are based on different disciplines such as economics and sociology. Additionally, students will explore some of the key theories that form the foundation of the field of strategy including transaction cost economics, agency theory, the resource-based view of the firm, knowledge-based views, industrial organization economics and applied theories, such as corporate governance, entrepreneurship, global strategy, alliances, mergers & acquisitions, and organizational design.
