Newman graduates in any field are required to be empowered to transform society, and should leave with a deeper understanding of the personal and societal impacts of technology. This certificate track will allow students to investigate, analyze, and evaluate the effects of technologies from the fields of psychology and sociology.

Core Courses

Students must take six (6) credit hours from the following:

HIST 1023 - World Civilization 2 Credits: 3
or
BSAD 1013 - Technology and Society Credits: 3
PHIL 3033 - Ethics Credits: 3
or
BSAD 3153 - AI and Human Flourishing Credits: 3

Electives

Students then select from the following:

PSY 4003 - History of Psychology Credits: 3
Select 3 hours from
SOC 1003 - Principles of Sociology Credits: 3
SOC 4043 - Sociological Theory Credits: 3
SOC 4113 - Ethics for the Social Sciences Credits: 3
