HIST 4523 - Rome: Republic to Empire Credits: 3 In this course students will explore the history of Rome from the foundation of the city through the era of the Julio-Claudians. As such students will be asked to deal with both primary and secondary resources in an effort to trace the political, military, social and economic developments that transformed Rome from a republic to an empire. To that end, we will discuss the great personalities of the age and the significant crises faced by Rome in the course of her history.
