AGBS 4713 - Agricultural Ethics and Sustainability Credits: 3 This course examines ethical issues in contemporary agriculture, local and global. It begins by exploring the purpose of agriculture and then proceeds to examine ethical problems such as land use, treatment of animals, environmental sustainability, artificial intelligence, precision farming, regenerative technology, and carbon capture technologies. Students will be encouraged to draw upon intellectual resources from philosophy and theology as they interrogate these problems.
