SOC 3093 - Corrections Credits: 3 This course focuses on the sociological analysis of current trends in the administration and structures of penal institutions in the United States. Topics include: the goals of punishment; sentencing; forms of the criminal sanction; and how race, class and gender impact the severity or harshness of punishment.
