SPAN 1115 - Elementary Spanish 1 Abroad Credits: 5 Co-taught with Newman faculty and cooperating language school faculty, an immersion based, intensive introduction to Spanish. Taught primarily in the target language, four skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening comprehension will be developed, with grammar covering the present indicative, the formal imperative and introduction to the present subjunctive and present progressive. Short compositions, a final exam, a modified Oral Proficiency Interview and brief presentation will demonstrate mid-novice level proficiency or higher.
